Bly, Robert (Elwood)
(n. 23 dic. 1926, Madison, Minn., EE.UU.).

Poeta y traductor estadounidense. Bly se formó en las universidades de Harvard y Iowa. En 1958 fundó la revista The Fifties [Los cincuenta] (más adelante The Sixties [Los sesenta]), en la que se publicaban obras de poetas jóvenes. Contribuyó a la fundación de American Writers Against the Vietnam War [Escritores norteamericanos contra la guerra de Vietnam], y donó el dinero del National Book Award que recibió en 1968 por The Light Around the Body [La luz alrededor del cuerpo] a una organización de oposición al reclutamiento. La publiciación de Iron John (1990), una anatomía de la psique masculina, lo convirtió en el líder más conocido del "movimiento masculino. El 2001 publicó The Night Abraham Called to the Stars [La noche en que Abraham clamó a las estrellas], poemas que asimilan la forma del ghazel árabe. También se lo conoce por sus traducciones de diversos poetas.
